Pilgrim’s Pantry
second edition cookbook
– West Central Minnesota favorites –
contains several old favorites, many ethnic traditional recipes,
 and many new and easy recipes.

and Soups
Recipes contributed by the women of our church who are well-known as outstanding cooks.

Sample Recipe:
Swedish Gifta (contributed by Mary Flower)
1 lb cranberries
1 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. whipping cream
4 Tbs. melted butter
2 c. saltine crackers
Boil cranberries in water until soft and skins have popped. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Chill thoroughly. Prepare 2 cups crushed saltine crackers with melted butter added. Whip 2 cups cream and sweeten to taste. Cover the bottom of a glass bowl with half of the crushed crackers, then a layer of cranberries, then a layer of whipped cream. Repeat layers.
Serve with a menu of fowl or pork.
